The concept: Crete in Full View

Almond begins with the kind of view that makes you pause before you even notice the house. The villa looks across the bay, the small islands, Spinalonga and the dry Cretan hills, giving guests a wide, cinematic outlook from the pool terrace and the main living spaces. Hosting up to eight guests across four ensuite bedrooms, it combines easy indoor-outdoor living, a heated infinity pool, a garden, and a location within easy reach of Plaka, Elounda, and Agios Nikolaos.

Outdoors

Outside, the mood is sunny, open, and very much designed for staying put. The infinity pool sits at the edge of the terrace, catching the blue of the bay, while loungers and seating areas give everyone comfortable nooks to settle. Lunch can move to the shaded dining area, evenings can gather around the BBQ, and the garden brings a softer frame to the crisp architecture. There is also a ping pong table, adding just enough activity to keep the atmosphere casual and family-friendly.

Indoors

The interior design follows the same logic as the terrace. A spacious open-plan living area connects the sofa, TV, fireplace, dining table, and fully equipped kitchen, so the group can stay together throughout the day. The palette is modern and light, with grey floors, white walls, woven lighting, and bright artwork adding character. Because all four ensuite bedrooms open to the pool terrace, mornings can begin quietly outdoors before the house fully comes alive.

Good to know

From Almond, the softer side of Elounda is easy to explore. Plaka is within easy driving distance and is one of the area’s most useful nearby stops, with beach access, waterfront tavernas, and boats across to Spinalonga. Schisma Eloundas and Agios Nikolaos are also reachable by car, for days when the group wants the plan to open up a little. The villa’s private parking makes those outings easy, but the view may make leaving feel less attractive.
