To help you decide, we asked the BlueVillas Team about their favorite experiences on the Greek islands, and here are their answers.
Christina, Villa Consultant
‘For me, food is an experience for itself. Through a country’s cuisine, you can learn a lot about the culture and history of the place you visit. My suggestion? A culinary experience in Mykonos. The island guarantees that you will taste some superior quality ingredients such as freshly-caught seafood, local meat, and organic vegetables. Plus, our Gastronomy Team is expert in creating innovative and authentic menus for any taste’.
‘Rumors have it that wine tastes better on holidays. In my mind, wine tastes better in Santorini and by living here for some years I can undoubtedly say that my favorite island experience by far is a local wine tasting tour. The combination of the climate and the volcanic viticulture results in extraordinary drinks, with Assyrtiko being among the finest worldwide. Can you imagine something better than sipping a sublime flavor while gazing at the caldera? I can’t!’
Dimitris, Villa Consultant
‘A yacht-cruise experience! I mean why stay on an island where there so many more to see and explore? The feeling of relaxing on a yacht riding through the emerald Aegean Sea, visiting coves and isolated beaches, and diving into blue caves in the Cyclades is truly incomparable. My favorite destination is Antiparos, a serene island ideal for unwinding with many sandy beaches of turquoise waters.
Christos, Founder MD
‘Crete is my favorite destination, the largest Greek island and – in my opinion – the most beautiful one. When I am on the island, I always have a cultural tour as Crete is home to many historical monuments and you get to know more of Greek history. The beautiful Knossos Palace is the paragon of the Minoan civilization, well preserved even nowadays and linked to many myths. Also, I am never getting bored of the picturesque Chania and Rethimno old towns to stroll around the narrow streets and see the old Venetian Harbor and the fortress’.
