The Concept: Enjoy luxury with friends
Vista Retreat is a luxury Santorini villa, on the slopes below Profitis Ilias, Santorini’s highest point. Rather than a single house, it’s a small terraced estate made up of four private units within the same grounds, ideal for friends or family who want to experience the island from a higher vantage point. The estate welcomes guests aged 14 and over, and sits away from the crowds, in an airy, secluded setting with sea views stretching over Perissa and the open horizon.
Outdoors
As you drive up the side of the mountain and see the monastery above you and Perissa laid out below, you come to the slopes of Vista Retreat. Across the estate, you’ll find two heated infinity pools with sunken lounge areas (at the lower villas), while the two upper suites feature outdoor jacuzzis. Sun loungers, shaded spots, and alfresco dining areas are arranged on every terrace, and when you want to gather as a group, the sunken lounges by the infinity pools create an easy place to sit together with the view. On clear days, you may even catch the outline of Crete in the distance.
Indoors
Inside, the four units share the same calm Cycladic mood: bright, open-plan spaces with pale wood tones and modern finishes, designed to keep the focus on light and landscape. Each suite includes a sitting and kitchen area for simple meals, and a king-size bed with anatomic mattresses and a pillow menu for comfortable sleep. The bathrooms are sleek and spacious, with walk-in rain showers, double basins, and thoughtful details such as luxury bath products, robes and slippers.
Good to know
Breakfast is served daily and makes the most of the estate’s organic vegetable and herb garden, with fresh produce used by the in-house cook; guests are also welcome to pick herbs for their own cooking. Daily housekeeping is included, alongside regular pool/jacuzzi freshening, with linen and towel changes during the week. The location is also a draw in itself: Profitis Ilias Monastery sits above the estate at the island’s highest point (567 metres), with gardens, a small craft shop, and some of Santorini’s most panoramic views.
