The oldest trail on the island is the Byzantine road from Lefkes to Prodromos, paved with Parian marble. It is about 3 km long and passes through scenes of unspoiled beauty. From Parikia there is a great path that runs all the way round from the port along the beach, to the beach of Livadia and then over the cliff tops and down to Krios and Marcello beaches. There are at least 3 lovely places to swim and a great view of town of Parikia from across the water.
