It all began in 2011 when Christos Gkekas, after conducting thorough research and extensive analysis of the luxury travel industry, came up with the idea of launching a company that would specialize in luxury villa rentals.
Thus, BlueVillas was born!

Counting 15 villas in our initial portfolio on the island of Santorini, we start to rapidly grow and during our second year, 10 were added on the island of Mykonos and 8 more on Santorini. Furthermore, we started to slowly expand our horizons and embrace more Greek destinations like Paros, Crete, Antiparos, Peloponnese, and other islands in the Aegean and the Ionian Sea. Today we are proud to include more than 450 villas in our luxury portfolio and we have expanded our villas and services beyond the Greek borders to the enchanting island of Ibiza in 2021 and soon in the exotic Tulum!
We give attention to even the slightest detail, so we wanted to make sure that each property is truly qualified as luxurious to enter our collection. As a result, we established a list of 150+ strict criteria to ensure that each villa fulfills our quality criteria to be part of our collection. However, we know that not all villas are the same, so we took a step further, and based on that list, we created our Signature Portfolio, a collection of deluxe properties that rival the amenities and facilities of a 5*hotel to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding guests.
BlueVillas of course isn’t just about luxury properties. What defines, us even more, as a company is our award-winning services and personalized planning. We have a highly skilled team of villa advisors that are always available to the guests and an award-winning concierge team that oversees the smooth operation procedures on each destination. Plus, we have an expert gastronomy team - consisting of top professional chefs and assistants – that makes tailor-made dishes and signature menus inspired by Mediterranean cuisine.
On top of that, we are proud to be partnered with some of the most renowned international travel agencies and networks such as Serandipians by Traveller Made, J.MAK Hospitality, and Marriott International. Together we share like-minded ideologies, and we strive to provide extraordinary experiences and everlasting memories to visitors!
FAM trip 2019
Hospitality means a lot to us. That’s why we chose to support through our services EMFASIS, a Greek non-profit organization founded to address the holistic needs of vulnerable and socially excluded groups, especially the homeless and the refugees. Apart from our individual efforts and donations to the organization, we also created a catalogue of luxury villas of “Donation Villas”, donating 1% of the total cost of the reserved selected villa to EMFASIS.
Our carefully chosen villas, our on-site concierge service, friendly staff, and local knowledge are highly valued by our guests, who inspire us to do better every year. Our excellent services and attention to detail have awarded us the title of “Best Services Villas in Europe” by the World Luxury Hotel Awards 5 years in a row (2016-2020)! This year we are once again nominated, and we hope to adorn our office with one more trophy.
On this 10th anniversary, BlueVillas vows to continue offering genuine customized high-end services and guarantees to further surpass its current growth and go beyond expectations!
