Native Eco is an award-winning designer canava renovation in Imerovigli, the highest village on the Santorini cliffside, facing out directly onto the volcano. The villa combines the harmonious tones of traditional Cycladic architecture with eco and reclaimed materials. The architects’ vision for sustaining the organic nature of the caldera living spaces has shaped Native Eco in every detail.
The villa extends over 2 levels, off the cliff path and down private steps, you come to your front door. At the back of the villa is a private stone and wood-decked terrace on each level, facing directly out onto the volcano and Thirassia islet, with totally unobscured views. Each terrace has island-style built-in stone sofas and designer wood furniture, sun loungers and each has a built-in stone jacuzzi at the front with the volcano in full view. As you look up the house, the smooth rounded lines and arches seem almost Art Deco. Native Eco perfectly matches the beauty of the view.
The interiors of Native Eco are light and bright, and the arched insets, the antique reclaimed floor tiles, the tasteful original art pieces and pale wood furniture blend into a ‘design magazine status’ living space. The two levels are joined by an artisan-made spiral stair case in the living room, and both levels have cozy, comfortable sitting areas, and fully equipped modern kitchens. The upper level has two queen-sized separate bedrooms, and the lower level bedroom has 2 single beds in a private arched inset of the living space. Each bedroom has its own walk-in rain shower bathroom, and each room of the villa has a unique shape. With the wooden features, the furniture by a local designer, the best anatomical mattresses, everything is for your pleasure. Imagine taking a shower looking out the glass window onto the volcano framed inside!
Native Eco is close to Imerovigli with many local restaurants and cafes, the walk on the cliff path into Fira the main town is only 2 km, so you can totally unwind with a driving-free holiday. Drop our concierge a line to find out more about planning your luxury Santorini vacation.
Canava in Greek is translated as cellar. The volcanic rock on Santorini was easy to carve into and the ancients made these caves with vaulted arches for storing wine. Each canava renovation is unique in shape and form and organically molded inside the cliffside rock.
