Melia Villa is in the Elia Beach area, so you have access to a great beach nearby. The villa is about 12km / 25 minutes from Chora/Mykonos Town, but with a little driving, there are all kinds of restaurants and stores nearby. Do get a rental car and/or expect to pay for a car and driver. Only so many taxis on the island. This is a very pleasant villa. The outside and the pool area are it's best feature. There's a huge kitchen with all the appliances (though no microwave and the ice dispenser has been disabled, and one of us who cooks considered it a faux kitchen, not really set up for cooking properly) and at least four different dining tables, two outdoors. It has nice furnishings, it's well-air conditioned, it's clean and the 4 bedrooms are comfortable and each has access to an outdoor patio. Two are en-suite, the other 2 share a bathroom. It's a nicely designed and built place. Please be aware however it is advertised as accommodating 12, but that this includes the couches and a "staff room" downstairs with bunk beds. We had a friend join us late in our trip planning but who was willing to stay in the staff room. However, we all found it uninhabitable as it had no AC or ventilation but lots of mosquitoes. Our friend then had to sleep on the couch all week and use a corner of the inside dining room as her space to dress, etc. They did offer to come in and install an AC in the staff room, but this would have meant drilling for a day or two, which we politely declined. The other thing to be aware of is that while the leasing agent, Blue Villas, Zak in particular, was very helpful and responsive, it appears that the owner is a bit penny-wise, pound-foolish, or perhaps stretched financially. Though there is a cleaner (and a pool guy) who come by daily to check on the place (the cleaner is clearly primarily there for this, not being a very thorough cleaner). We inquired ahead of time about what was included or not at the villa. We did ask about basics such as toilet paper, etc. We were told these were included. As it was, we did not expect luxury amenities, just basics to be supplied. Some things, like the BarBQ grill, were misrepresented (there really isn't one). Upshot was that beyond a couple of rolls per bathroom, we needed to supply our own toilet paper (what we had would not last a week for 7 women in 4 bathrooms), paper towels, trash bags, dishwashing soap, dishwasher tabs, bathroom soap, shampoo, etc along with food, water, drinks, including basic cooking items like olive oil. There was some coffee and other items left over, but everything else we brought in, including ice. There was a bit of a dust up about the dishwasher tabs as the owner claimed there were 10 there, when there was not (I mean, really). For a house of this calibre and cost, all of these basics really should be included. And our expectations were set that they would be. We're all professionals and resourceful, so it wasn't the end of the world. But it left a bit of a bad taste for us to deal with this and to also have some confrontative interactions with the house manager. For a week like this, it's not just about the actual villa and location, it's really about the overall experience. For these reasons I wouldn't recommend the villa, as lovely as it was.
